‘The Ocean Behind the Window’ wins at San Francisco

Iranian movie ‘The Ocean Behind the Window’ has been awarded at the San Francisco Iranian Film Festival in the US.

In its third international appearance, the film, directed by Babak Nabizadeh, grabbed the best film award at the 13th edition of the event.

Nabizadeh’s first feature film has also bagged six awards at the International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults in Isfahan.

The film narrates the story of a teenage boy on a remote island who tries to promote the island’s tourism but he faces an unexpected problem.

The cast of ‘The Ocean Behind the Window’ includes Hadiseh Karami, Mohammad Azadi, Mehran Mozaffari, Jafar Qasemi, Hassan Zakeri, Bahram Komijani, Amir Qavidel, Yousef Ranjbar, Qolam Ranjbar, and Mohammad Salimi.

Launched in 2008, the IFF is an annual event showcasing independent feature and short films made by or about Iranians from around the world. It is the first independent Iranian film festival outside Iran.

The 13th edition of the festival was held on September 19-20, 2020.
